School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Book Week

Date: Saturday, August 22 to Friday, August 28, 2026.

Time: Parade is Friday, August 28 at 11:00 am.

Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week and on the last day (Friday), they participate in a dress up parade. The theme of Book Week 2026 is "Symphony of Stories".

Open classrooms Morning

Date: Thursday, 20th November 2025

Time: 9:30am-10:00am

Our school holds open classroom mornings or afternoons for parents and carers to actively observe how their child's class operates. Prospective parents and carers are welcome to contact the school for a tour. This is a great opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school.

K-2 Easter Hat Making and Parade

Date: TBA (the days prior to Easter)

Time: TBA

Easter hat making is a highlight of the year for Kindergarten to Year 2 students to get creative with their easter hat designs. Parents and carers are invited to come in for an afternoon at school to help assemble the fabulous creations, in preparation for the final showcase; the Easter Hat Parade and K-2 Easter Performances.

Excursions and Incursions

Date: Various dates throughout the year

Throughout the year our school holds excursions and incursions for all students. Annual excursions in previous years have involved trips to Canberra Zoo and Aquarium, Questacon, Riverina Environmental Education Centre, School Camps, Park picnics, and The Arts Centre Cootamundra to name a few. We also host incursions for the students where the school is delighted to receive visits such as those from authors, performers and the fire brigade.

Sports Carnivals and Sports Events

Date: Various dates throughout the year

Annual athletics and swimming carnivals allow qualifying students the opportunity to partake in further competition through the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA). Our school proudly supports students in various PSSA sport competitions throughout the year, enabling students opportunities to experience many different activities.

Our school has 4 house colours for sports events and students are assigned one of the following:

Tuldar (meaning stars): Green

Allunga (meaning Sun): Yellow

Birubi (meaning Southern Cross): Blue

Kurra (meaning Storm): Red

P&C Association meetings

Date: Various dates throughout the year.

Time: Generally 6:00pm

Our school's Parents and Citizens Association consists of a volunteer group of parents and citizens who play an important role in our public school community. Our school holds regular meetings in order to, for example, work on school-improvement projects, fundraising, and preparing celebrations for key dates and events.

Come and join our P&C Association, it is a great way to meet other parents and be a representative of the decisions that affect student's learning, wellbeing and school culture.
